These guidelines are to help enhance our yoga experience and keep the center a sacred space for all.
Arrive 5-10 minutes before class so you can get your things hung up and stowed (coat hooks and shoe storage
are in the studio itself). If you do arrive late, take a moment to center yourself, and enter the studio quietly.
Greenbelt Om shares lobby space with Pleasant Touch, a day spa. Please remember that spa services are going on in the facility, and we must maintain a tranquil, quiet lobby so that others may enjoy their time in the spa's treatment rooms.
Dress comfortably for class, in clothes that stretch and move with you. Avoid clothing that is
uncomfortably tight, or overly bulky or baggy.
Leave cellphones and pagers in your car or at home, because one day you will forget to turn off the ringer
and it will ring right in the middle of class! Enjoy your time in this cell-free zone.
Practice on an empty stomach. We recommend that you do not eat 2-3 hours before practice. If you must eat
closer to class time, choose easily digestible foods, such as fruit or yogurt, at least one hour before
class.
Mention any injuries or special conditions to your teacher at the beginning of class.
Come to your practice accepting where you are. Respect your body, and acknowledge what it can do today, right
now.
Avoid leaving class early. If you must, do so quietly before savasana (final resting pose) without
disturbing others.
Enjoy your practice, yourself, and your community at Greenbelt Om.
In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility. —Eleanor Roosevelt
