Yoga Free-for-All and Spring Open House! Are you curious about yoga but have been afraid to try it? Are you taking one style of yoga, but curious about other styles? Do you have friends, colleagues, neighbors who could use some stress reduction and a structured fitness program? All of these are reasons to join us May 5th through May 11th for a whole week of free classes at Greenbelt Om. We're launching our new spring/summer schedule so here's your chance to preview it. New offerings include Gentle Yoga, more Pilates, Yoga Chill, and Market Day Yoga. We'll also have some new student specials, so be sure to bring along your friends who are new to Greenbelt Om.
Yoga at Greenbelt Lake, Sundays 10am-11am! Two of Greenbelt Om Community Yoga's teachers will be offering weekly donation-only yoga classes at the lake during this beautiful warm weather, starting Sunday, May 4th. This is strictly a volunteer effort that grew out of a wish to spread more yoga to our community. You can support their efforts with a voluntary donation. The class will be led by Brecken Chinn Swartz and Karl Gary. We'll meet at the log bench near the concrete drainage spillway by the lake's straight western bank. Bring a yoga mat or blanket if you're comfortable on the ground, or a folding chair if you'd prefer. For directions, call Brecken at 202-213-9267.
On May 19-23, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will premier its first annual Yoga Week. Presenting topics ranging from "Research on Tibetan Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Qigong in Cancer" to "Yoga Stretches for the Desk and Office", this five-day series of events is open to the public. This is an incredible opportunity to learn more about what we practice at Greenbelt Om, and we hope to see many of you there on NIH's Bethesda campus that week. Learn more!
